Book Design Services
I offer book design services for authors who have finished a manuscript and are ready to have it designed and printed. I offer interior book design and typesetting for works of fiction and nonfiction, poetry books, manuals, self-help books, illustrated texts and RPG's (Role Playing Game Books)*. Typical fiction and nonfiction layouts includes:- Creation of title page
- Creation of copyright page
- Creation of table of contents (if needed)
- Layout up to 300 pages of text with running heads and folios (page numbers) from your MS Word or WordPerfect document
- 5 callouts
- One PDF proof for proofreading
- 1 round of corrections (up to 25 corrections)
- Final PDF proof for OK prior to sending file to printer
- Final PDF files for offset or digital printing
Note! RPG game books are quoted separately do to their complexity with tables, images and callouts.
Book Design
If you are an author who plans to self-publish a book, I can create a printer-ready book layout from your Microsoft® Word document (other formats maybe accepted). I will create a complete interior text layout of your book (up to 300 pages) including the title page, copyright page, and table of contents (if applicable). The interior layout also includes page numbers and running heads at the top of each page, and drop caps for the first paragraph of each chapter (if desired). There is an extra charge for photos, charts, tables, bibliographies, and for layouts in excess of 300 pages.
Interior Layout and Design
I will work with you to select fonts and create a basic book design that will compliment your subject matter. Prior to layout into the document, your manuscript will be cleaned to remove all extra spaces, tabs, and breaks. Then it will be placed into the layout document and will each page will be checked for readability, removing any gaps, bad breaks, or other typographic errors that can ruin your book’s appearance. The file will be sent to you as a PDF (Portable Document Format). Our price includes one round of corrections (up to 25 corrections). We will send you a final PDF for approval, and will create a high-resolution file for your printer. If you wish, we’ll even e-mail or upload the file directly to your printer.
